Petter was an industrial PhD student hired by the LKAB mine company and studying via Stockholm University. His project’s main focus was describing the diversity and activity of oil degrading fungi and bacteria present in Kiruna underground mine with the long term goal of implementing new and sustainable industrial waste treatment methods. He graduated with a licentiate exam in September 2026, and is still enrolled as a PhD-student while back working in LKAB.
