I am an evolutionary genomicist with a deep interest in structural variation and its role in adaptation and genome evolution. I defended my PhD in December 2023 at the University of Montpellier (France), where I studied the diversity of gene duplications conferring insecticide resistance in Culex and Anopheles mosquitoes, working under the supervision of Prof. Pierrick Labbé and associate Prof. Pascal Milesi. I then moved to Sweden for a postdoctoral position with Prof. Vaishali Katju, investigating intraspecific variation in structural variant mutation rates across strains of the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans. Moving from metazoans to fungi, I am now joining Prof. Hanna Johannesson’s group in the Verticillium project, studying transposable element landscapes and genomic variation across the species’ different lineages. Across those different systems, from gene duplications to structural variants to transposable elements, my work is centered on how genomic variation arises, persists, and shapes evolution.
